About this calculator

Conversions inside one dimension (for example mg to µg, or mmol/L to mol/L) are pure factor conversions. Conversions between dimensions need additional physical data:

  • Amount of substance ↔ mass requires the molecular weight (g/mol).
  • Molar concentration ↔ mass concentration requires the molecular weight.
  • Mass ↔ volume requires a density (g/mL).

No density is ever assumed — not even that of water. If the required value is missing, the converter refuses the conversion and says what it needs.

LabCalc is provided as a calculation aid. Users remain responsible for verifying calculations, units, chemical compatibility, experimental procedures and applicable safety requirements before laboratory use.
